Advice for an Asian female in a relationship with an Egyptian male from a hardcore Islamic family

Hey, I’ve been dating the love of my life for 2 years + and I have even met his mother/ sisters. Have yet to be introduced to the rest of the family because I do not practice Islam.

We are very serious about our relationship, so his mother told me that converting to Islam would be crucial for our future. I am not religious at all, and choose to not follow any. I am so torn, because I love him so much but DO NOT want to convert...

My stomach turns thinking about this subject. I don’t know why, but thinking about following a religion as intensely as his family does makes me very uneasy.

Please, tell me if I’m being selfish or if you have any advice for my situation.
