So long story short I’ve never dated much. I started working with a new hire at work and we work in the same area and have to communicate daily. We talk all the time about work and things outside of work and joke around all the time. Something I’ve noticed is she’s not like that with most of the people we work with. Tonight my work buddy told her we should date since I’m single and we both immediately blushed and laughed. Soon after I noticed her doing things like smiling at me, goofing off and joking around as well as physical contact.
Here’s where things get a little more complicated. She’s a very attractive girl so all the time guys are trying to “make their move”. One guy tried to Snapchat with her and her response was “my boyfriend wouldn’t like that.” I’ve never seen her with a guy around work and she’s never brought up that she has a boyfriend so I wonder if that’s a way for her to get those kind of guys to back off.
What should I do in this situation? Part of me says I should back off since she possibly has a boyfriend and she’s probably out of my league but at the same time another part of me thinks I’m squandering a chance with a girl I’m extremely interested in.
