This is what I said to the last girl I asked out. We were walking to our cars together, and as she was about to leave, I said something like, "Hold on. If you're free sometime, you wanna go out?" She turned me down. It's totally fine, but in hindsight, she must've been caught off guard and might have been put on the spot. Should I ask the next in a less abrupt way (e.g. "Wanna grab a bite/coffee?"), or is it fine as is?
