I (23F) had been single and wanting a relationship for three years. I was obsessed with the dating apps. I was on all of them, going on dates every week. Also constantly getting ghosted, wondering what was wrong with me, going back to the apps for validation. It was a vicious cycle.
After years of this, my coworker (23M) asked me out. I was really surprised, because it seemed to come out of nowhere. But I realized that we were friends, and he was funny and attractive, so I said yes. We’re now happily dating.
According to him, he had been trying to flirt/ ask me out for months, and I had been inadvertently turning him down. (Thank heavens for this boys persistence). I was unaware of it. I was so busy being lost in the apps and obsessing over whatever guy I was talking to that I was ignoring what was right in front of me.
So here’s my advice: use the apps with caution. Don’t get stuck in the same cycle I was in. And lastly, be open and available to meeting someone in real life too!
Happy dating! ❤️
