So I’m not really sure if I (M26) handled this situation right or not. This past week I found out that a co worker (F21) I was very much attracted to had reciprocal feelings. This kind of came out of no where because I didn’t really pick up on her being interested. When another co worker mentioned to me that she wanted to come out with my friends and I, I honestly didn’t believe her so I had co worker B tell her to text me, which she did. After talking for a little while, I invited her and some friends to go out with us. They all met us at the bars and the night went really well and we hit it off. Towards the end of the night everyone but her and I had left, so I invited her back to my place to which she emphatically said yes. However, after thinking about it for a minute I realized that she was pretty drunk and that I really wasn’t all that drunk. I was honest and told her that I didn’t feel like it was right taking her home with her being drunk and me being relatively sober. She seemed to be okay with it and said that given her past relationships, she respected it. In retrospect, she wasn’t blackout drunk or even incoherent, but I knew she had a bit more to drink than me and it showed a little so it made me a little uncomfortable. So I put her in an Uber and went home. She texted me the next day saying she had fun and we’re planning on going out again. So I don’t think anything is ruined, I guess I’m just trying to gauge what everyone else would have done in this situation.
