How does a guy who lives with a parent tell a date about it and it’ll be like that for a while?

Since no other great quality is more valuable I dunno how to say it.

Tell them after they suggest a date? Tell them during dinner and risk a knife to the eye? Should I expect being Snapchat lived and shamed for it?

People are lying to me saying it’s fine if “there’s a plan” but my plan is gonna take some time.
