So about nine years ago I got locked up. I went to prison for 2 1/2 years and had a problem with drugs. It took quite a few years after that for me to straighten out, but I did, and have stayed that way for a couple of years now.... So a few months ago I started getting into using apps, with a surprising amount of success, and options. But lately the same thing keeps happening to me and it’s becoming extremely frustrating and depressing... I’ll meet a girl, and we’ll go on 3-4 dates. Being that I’m totally sober, and am pretty involved in a 12 step program, it comes up in conversation that I don’t drink, which always seems to lead to the question if I’ve ever been in trouble with the law, and im not a liar, so I explain my situation, and just about every time, the person either ghosts me after or explains that they don’t wanna get involved
When it’s once or even twice that it happens, I’m able to not take it personally, but now that it’s been 4 different times, it’s really starting to bum me out. I’ve been through a lot, and am/have worked really hard to change the course of my life, I have an amazing job, money, friends, life, and all of these girls seemed to be pretty into me, yet when they learn about my past they run for the hills I’m thinking maybe it’s because I’m meeting people off the internet? I haven’t really had this problem with girls i know from the real world, but they also get to know me a little bit before we date, so idk, what do I do?
