Ok, so some background. At the office Christmas party I (30F) slept with a co-worker (35M). I’ve been crushing on him for a little while. At the party we were both super drunk and he ended up at mine. I think (can’t totally remember) it was me who hit on him, but there’s been instances of flirting between us before. We were wasted so didn’t properly have sex, but I went down on him in the morning. I waited a day or two and messaged him on Facebook saying have a good Xmas etc. Two weeks later he replied! Said he doesn’t use FB much so hadn’t seen it, but I know he has Messenger on his phone so he would’ve got the notification. So after two weeks of ignoring me he’d replied and asked for my number, said he’d prefer that to Facebook. But now my reply, with my number in, is still showing up as unread one week later, and no text. I know he was online after the message was sent because Messenger shows you. Writing it all out now it seems so so obvious that he’s not into me. But I’d really like to at least hook up again (to prove I’m not usually that bad in bed if anything!). Am I stupid to hope for that? Why would someone hook up with me if they weren’t interested at all? And why ask for my number? It would’ve been so much easier to just keep ignoring my first message, which is what confused me (and gave me this likely false hope of something happening in future).
