I’ve recently started seeing a friend of mine and it’s going well. I’m coming out of a period of being single for a long time and really working on myself to make sure I don’t accept just anything or make the mistakes I’ve made in past relationships. Since we started seeing each other, I don’t have the goo goo gaga head over heels feeling for him. I don’t feel obsessive or needy which probably sounds weird to be looking for that, but I’ve had it in all of my past relationships so I’ve grown accustomed to the intense thrills. We’re also not getting physical. I’ve committed to not having sex again until I get married and he’s the first guy I’m carrying that out with.
Here’s my question. Is it normal to not have butterflies when you start dating someone? Does that mean we lack chemistry? We’re both in our late twenties and pretty settled in life, if that means anything.
