I really like the person I am in the “pre-dating” phase with, but he is currently couch surfing at sleeping on floors at 24 years old. He only works about 20 hours a week, and spends the rest of his time just sitting at the river. [Which, is nice that he loves nature and all]. I’m 23F, I graduated college , I have a full time job, I have so many goals I know I will achieve. When I talk to him about my goals, he just looks so confused; like what on earth is ambition and drive?
Anyway, he’s upset because I will not let him spend the night at my own home.. the relationship is too new, and I refuse to let anyone mooch off of me.
Anytime I’m off work he’s always wondering why I’m so tired, why I just want to relax and lay down. Like he has 0 concept of work. He takes it personal, and if I don’t enjoy his company.
When he brings up his financial troubles, I feel physically sick—- because it’s like bro, just get your ass up and get a full time job. The laziness is beyond unattractive.
He won’t even eat unless I pay for it.
The only reason we are not currently dating is because I told him he has to at least take me on ONE date before asking me to officially be his girl, but he can’t flipping afford it. And I’m not sacrificing.
Should I just break it off now? Is that petty? I’d it unfair—- i have been broken before too so I know how it is.
But like , I’m ready to find a husband. Not a grown man to take care of
Edit:: I don’t make great money btw either right now, but I have enough to survive and let my hair down on the weekends !
