I joined reddit solely for advice because I have no idea what to do.
Background info on me: I’m 20, never have had a bf, and I have only ever known hookup culture bc of college.
In the past 2 months, my bestfriend of 4 years and I decided to become FWB. We hang out with each other everyday and recently came back from a mountain trip. As I’m sure you can guess where this is going, we caught feelings.
I decided to bring up the discussion today and he confirmed that he does have feelings for me and that he wants to start dating. I’ve had crushes on him throughout the years but he always had a gf, so I would keep my distance. Also, I am not brave enough to make the first move. Anyways, I can feel one resurfacing again, but this time not as intensely. I would be willingly to begin a relationship but one of the issues is that I’m going back to school at the end of the month. We’re only 3 hours apart but I’m afraid that this might jeopardize our relationship. He said that he’s willing to make the commute but I don’t know if I’d be willing to do the same for him. I’m just afraid that if we break up, I’ll lose him. But I know that if we end what we have now, that it will probably jeopardize our friendship too. I guess I’m screwed either way.
Anyways, I’m asking should I give us a chance or just end it here?
