How do you feel about the “ghosting nudge”?

I’ve (23F) met a few people (M23-27) off dating apps who “nudge” you with a passive-aggressive message or emoji if you haven’t responded in a while (few hours to maybe 1-2 days). This only happens with people I’ve been on 0 to 3 dates with, so I haven’t known them for long.

These messages are often something like “oh okay then” or an emoji like “:/“ to show disappointment.

To me, it comes across as a red flag, as the messages denote entitlement, insecurity, and pettiness.

I’m busy with other things in life, and if we’re not in a committed relationship then I’m not going to prioritize how quickly I respond to messages.

I’m also not playing games by always replying late to seem “hard to get”. Sometimes it’s just the wrong time of day and I can’t respond, or I’m having a stressful few days and its not feasible.

Am I reading too much into this? Because I’ve also brushed this off before, only to note that the guys end up being the controlling type if I give them a chance.
