Dating and FWBs

In need of some advice here. I'm (30s F) rather new to the world of online dating. Downloaded an app and started swiping. Matched with someone (30s M) and started chatting. Took it to text and over a couple weeks things got real flirty. We set up an in person date for a Saturday. The Friday night before the date it comes up that he has a FWB that he sees often. I am shook. I know expecting to be the only person your match is talking to is completely unrealistic, but my feelings were hurt to be honest. I didn't want to go on the date after learning that and ended up telling him thanks, but no thanks. Has anyone else come across this situation and how did you handle it? I'm afraid I am just not cut out for online dating and it feels like being a die-hard romantic isn't going to serve me well in this setting. Any advice is much appreciated.
