Does the term “friend” from a girl always mean friend zone?

I’ve (20M) been talking with this girl (21F) I met on a dating site and we’ve been openly flirting and have gone on a few dates now (as in we both refer to them as “dates”). There seems to be good chemistry and she’s very open to my advances, showing no resistance at all. We were talking about some ethnic food and she asked if I liked it. I said I do, and she said “I guess we can be friends then” in a sarcastic tone. She also once said something in passing along the lines of “alright my friend I need to....”.

We have another date planned soon and I even specified “it’s a date” after she accepted, just to make it abundantly clear that I am not looking for a platonic friendship. If she is getting a friend vibe I’m not sure why...I’ve made my intentions clear from day one. She’s also mentioned wanting me to meet her parents.

Does this usage of “friend” always mean friend zone? I’m quite confused.

TLDR: girl I’ve been dating referred to me as “friend” in passing. Am I screwed here?
