Recently started a new job and met a girl I clicked with. I was talking about how much money I raised for a charity and an older woman asked "so will you be buying her a ring with it?" which I replied as I was leaving "maybe I will buy her a ring" lol. But the girl I like was like "awh." It sounded as though I was going to buy my gf a ring, when I'm in fact single. I only meant it as a joke. Is there a way and can come around from this? Im not even sure if she has a boyfriend herself though.
