I've been on four dates over the last two years, in which I took the initiative to ask them out. I also felt all of them showed enthusiasm to me asking them out and not that they accepted it because they were being polite(I hope at least).
Point is, in none of the girls I met there was a second date. When the fourth one clearly didn't show interest in texting after the date I seriously felt extremely uncomfortable, shit did I have a bad breath, did I pull of creepy vibes or were I acting too narcissistic. All of the girls I met had seen me in person prior to the date, so its not like "I didn't look like in the photos".
So I finally asked the fourth one the reason she stop text a month after I had been rejected and got the reply that "I never made a move". This never struck my mind because I always felt it to be more comfortable to know the person and just have fun before engaging in anything sexual. I can't speak for the rest of the three girls I dated but none of the dates were awkward but they all had in common that the girl went home and never cared to write after.
