Looking back, both of my serious past relationships happened when I was kind of crushing on someone I'd been getting friendly with, and then I initiated the more romantic aspects. I just went on a date with this dude after we talked a little bit beforehand (via Tinder), and I couldn't figure out why I was so perplexed by this whole thing. The date went well, things are going fine. I think it's that it's odd to me to frame the interaction as romantic before there's been organic, normal friendship and time to establish some natural chemistry. It feels almost rushed or unnatural. Is that just me?
