Second date with a guy (M 26). He kept checking his phone during. Atleast 3-4 times for like 1-2 minute stretches. First two times I (F 27) just continued talking to keep the convo going and then he put his phone away. Later I didn’t even bother talking and there was a silence that he ignored until he put his phone down.
I found it a bit rude and by the third time I was annoyed. I’m pretty sure it was work, but he didn’t even say anything like “sorry I have to check something real quick.” It was just weird and it’s never happened to me before. As a rule I just put my phone face down and only occasionally glance at it for like 2-seconds if at all. Im so wary of being rude.
What would you guys do? This guy is a bit rough around the edges (has shown up to both dates in flip flops), but I try not to judge clothes because honestly not everyone is a good dresser and he’s sweet otherwise.
The phone checking threw me off though. Thoughts anyone?
