I’ve been single for almost a year and I really would like to meet someone new. I’ve been trying dating apps, but I’m not the best at it! I really don’t like hookups and am trying to find someone who will go slow with me. It just makes me anxious that guys always want to hook up right away. I’ve tried using a variety of photos to try to deviate my matches from hook up wanting guys, but then I don’t get as many matches. I also think I’m too forward right away about not wanting to hookup. And I’m so busy that it’s hard to schedule dates, it seems whenever I’m excited about someone we never end up meeting. I am trying to meet guys in real life too, but again I’m just so busy (I’m an overnight ER doctor) and it’s hard to find the right guy. I want to find a guy who has an education (for the sake of having things in common, not a dealbreaker for me at all) and is passionate about his career. But at the same time, I just want someone nice and sweet and caring.
I know I have cute photos and am photogenic, but also am a little concerned that maybe physically I do not live up to my photos? I try to make them recent and showcase what I actually look like. It may not help that I have two giant dogs by my side all the time?
Any advice? What’s the best way to meet a good guy in the SF Bay Area?
