How to keep things interesting?

I (22F) had my first date yesterday with a guy (30M) I met online. We both said we enjoyed our time together and said we liked each other. We mentioned going out again during the date but he hasn’t mentioned anything about seeing me again. I texted this morning and we had a short convo but we’ve both been busy at work.

I guess I’m just overthinking things, but I’m having a hard time with coming up with stuff to say over text. It usually comes naturally for me but he isn’t a big texter. I am just scared that the convo will die out and then he will grow bored and move onto someone else. How can I keep the convo going without sharing too much information where we won’t have a lot to talk about when (or if) we go out again? Topics to talk about?

Also, should I initiate the second date if he initiated the first? I’m not sure how long you should wait to mention another date. I’m a bit new to relationships if you can’t tell 😅

TL;DR I’m scared the convo will die out and I’ll push away the guy I’m seeing. What are some good things to talk about/share over text without giving away too much? Are phone calls a better option? Should I take the initiative for the second date?
