I (24f) met a 30M at a conference in Germany last summer. I’m Canadian, and he is from Britain (yes, he does have a dreamy accent). We met at a party and spent a great night together, but went back to our respective countries. I started texting him since I thought we hit it off. We’ve been texting for about 8-9 months, a couple times a week. He’s warm and genuine, intelligent and funny- I adore him but I can’t help but wonder what is going on. We sext and flirt and talk deeply and all of that but he has yet to call me or move things forward, although he did say that he’d come to Canada soon to see me. We agreed we’d just be friends when we first started texting since we’re both busy people, but I don’t feel like friends, especially given the nature of our talks. Or are things different in other countries? I don’t know; I’m petrified of my feelings. Am I silly to hope that things will work out with this man in a time zone 8 hours ahead?
