What is it like to date someone with a best friend of the opposite sex?

I (24f) have been dating my boyfriend (29m) a year and a half now. Everything is absolutely wonderful! He has a best friend (27f) and they have known each other for about 10 years. She is wonderful and so kind to me, absolutely no red flags. However, if we are all hanging out they will sometimes get caught up in talking about their partying days, past trips, and things like that and I will sometimes feel left out but I stay quiet. They do not see each other very often, so I usually do not mind. I am not necessarily jealous of her or think that she may steal my boyfriend, I find myself being jealous of how close they are and how they are able to tell each other just about anything (minus sex/relationships, they are both heterosexual and figured out early on that it was just weird for them to talk about that kind of stuff). Any advice for navigating this type of relationship? How do you feel about your partner having a close friendship with someone of the opposite sex? I would like to see how other people handle this because I feel like I'm the only one in this kind of situation and those that I have known to have been in this situation have had their partner cheat/end up with their best friend. I'm not looking for advice on how to distance them or get rid of her.
