[F17] going on a date for the first time

Following up on my previous post on r/teenagers, I got asked out--as in dinner and a movie at a guy's house. I'm really excited yet uncertain, since this could lead to kissing and/or cuddling, which was already implied by him [M16-17]. I've never been kissed by someone in a romantic setting before, nor have I been cuddled.

I'm a little unnerved by the fact that this is moving so quickly--we only started to get to know each other a week ago. Another thing that has me worried is how he brings up his toxic ex sometimes. Through friends of his, I've learned that he sometimes got into arguments with his ex (not physically abusive, although I've heard different things). He's such a sweet, loving guy, but it worries me to hear that kind of speculation. I don't want to be naive and get hurt as a result. We even said "I love you" out of habit on one of our calls and I'm anxious that it's too early to be saying something that serious. My best friend [M17] additionally seems reluctant to say it's ok for me to date the guy, although I have suspicions that his reluctance stems from fear of abandonment.

Aside from those worries, I'm hoping all goes well. I have low self esteem so this has really been helping me feel better about myself. I'm careful not to lean on relationships or use them as a crutch, though. What are your thoughts? What should I wear on the date? Any tips?

tl;dr: I'm going on my first date ever. I'm progressing to a relationship quickly. Should I be concerned?
