My brothers friend will ask me to catch up for a coffee 1 on 1, then ask me out for dinner but also asks my brother to join... whats going on there?

I’ve been talking to a friend of my brothers for around 3 years now. Last year, he’d ask me all the time to catch up for coffee or go to the markets. We get along really well, too well. He asks me about my job, he’s dropped into my work before, constantly has questions about my life - we laugh heaps. He’s never flirty that I’ve ever picked up on and maybe I’m just seen to him as a friend, because despite the fact he messages me every 2-3 days starting a conversation with no purpose, he always suggests we should have dinner and to ask my brother if he wants to join.

Someone shed some light. Is he trying to do the right thing, is he friendzoning me, is he possibly gay. What’s the go here. We’re all between 25-27 in age.
