My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost a year now and we are very happy with each other’s company.
We met in a third country where we were both studying. I left earlier so we have been in an LDR for most of the relationship. We fly every 2 months to travel together but the pandemic has ruined our plans this year and we haven’t seen each other for 7 months now. Even so, we are still crazy about each other, we facetime everyday, and we miss each other a lot.
We’ve been trying to avoid “the talk” but i guess it has to be discussed eventually. He had told me in the very beginning that we cannot end up together as the cultural difference is too strong and he doesn’t want his family to carry that burden (we’re both asians but he is from an even more conservative country). I continued with the hope that he will change his mind along the way but even until last night he just kept saying sorry and tried to cheer me on by telling i can meet greater guys than him. He said he will guide me along the process until I completely move on from him. Problem is, idk how to cut things from him, i dont want to let go of him bcos he’s made me feel loved all this time and we have been really happy together. I know it’s a crazy situation that I’m in right now but it’s very hard for me to accept. I know It’s not even worth keeping anymore. Where do i even begin?
