Try not to lay it on so thick in the beginning, that reeks of desperation. It’s ok to vocalize that you are ready for a long term relationship, but adding in they you’re lonely, you’ve been burned so many times and need affection so you’re ready to settle down NOW, is just too much. Also when you rush things one person can begin to feel controlled, so try slowing it down. A good relationship takes time and has buildup even if there is “chemistry” from the beginning. A good therapist said sometimes instant chemistry can just be trauma bonding so be careful of that. (Look up trauma bonding). If someone really wants to make a relationship work with you then they will put in the time and also respect your boundaries and vice versa. Be very careful of someone laying it on thick and trying to have a long term relationship from like the first date or even first conversation. I’m not sure if people are delusional or if online dating/social media just makes people think they can just pick a relationship like they pick up their favorite shoes at the store.
