So I(M25) have only ever dated once and it ended horrible due to me being used. I'm trying to stay positive and get out and find someone but it always ends up with "You deserve someone better than me" and then them keeping me "close" to be used as they say. I've had several friends (both males and females) tell me to just be an ass/jerk and I'll be good, hell I even had one female friend tell me to break a girl's heart so that I can be better?! I feel my stomach turning whenever I go against my morals and act like and ass. I don't know if I should just suck it up and be a jerk like they say but it sucks that being myself is "too kind". Why is it me treating someone with respect and kindness looked down upon and makes girls "uninterested"..
