Why do men act like your boyfriend but say they don’t want a relationship?

It’s not like they just want sex, they will do everything a boyfriend does and sometimes they’ll even be 100% loyal to you but when you come to them with the “what are we” question it’s like you asked them to give you a kidney

PS: I know girls sometimes do that too but I’m just speaking from my experience dating men aged around 25
