*Also posted in r/relationship_advice but didn't get many nibbles
I went out with this girl a few times about a year ago- a friend of a friend. Nothing serious. I liked her a lot however after a few dates she lets me know that we would be better off as friends due to her own personal issues and us not having a romantic spark. She said how we should keep in touch and told me to not disappear. I definitely was bummed but honestly I don't think she was wrong and I felt like I adjusted fairly quickly. While I don't feel any animosity toward her, friend zoning is not really my thing and I let myself fizzle away. I've had bad experiences. From the words of our mutual friend and occasional group interactions, she seemed sadder than me about it.
Anyway, about 10 months of no talking I get a text from her out of the blue. It really surprised me. We exchange pleasantries, catch up and she ultimately suggests we get food. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued. If she wanted to pursue something in a higher capacity than friendship I'd still be down. My ultimate question is this: does this sound like a friend zone situation?
