I got too invested in my crush, just found out he has a gf

I’m soooo discouraged. I feel like an idiot because I’ve demonstrated a clear interest in him, and I’ve told friends about this ‘crush’. I still want to know him as a person but I’m just so discouraged to once again not get the guy, or completely read a situation wrong...
