Tldr: what's the best way to approach a female that I'm interested in?

Every day, I pass by potential individuals that I think are attractive. I'm trying to ramp up my level of experience with females.

If I come across a female whom I think is attractive, is my type, how do I go about breaking that ice, so as to not scare her?

I'm the past, I've just gone up to them and complimented them on their beauty. Yada Yada yada. Do women even like hearing that?

I'm thinking something along the lines of, you are really attractive, and I was wondering if there was room in your schedule for a coffee date?

But then again, I'm assuming they don't have a boyfriend. So what should I ask?
