Hi everyone, I am currently a student at NYU and am interested in creating a new dating app that helps foster healthy, long-term relationships rather than short-term hookups. There would be two unique features of the app that help achieve these life-long matches. The first would be a deep, meaningful questionnaire that focuses more on finding a strong mutual life purpose, passion, and identity among users rather than mutual hobbies, physical traits, and other malleable aspects of someone that don't really predict long-term compatibility. The second feature of the app would be the promotion of meaningful, reasonably priced activities nearby that align with the mutual life purpose/passion/identity of matched users. These activities would be suggested as the ideal places to have "dates" in substitution for the traditional dinner/movie date, as they will better solidify the relationship and allow daters to get to know each other more gradually rather than all at once.
Please answer the survey below so I can get an idea of whether you would be interested in an app like this. If there is substantial interest, I will ask my psychology lab mentor if I can run a study to see what group of questions/answers (questionnaire) best predicts healthy, long-term relationships and if activity-based dates truly lead to more-solidified relationships. Then, if the study is successful, I will ask one of my tech friends to help me create the app. Thanks a lot guys!
