Would I be making a fool of myself again if I asked her out on a real date?

Hey all, looking for some girl advice because I’m honestly just wicked confused. I work with this girl, we’re both 24 and we became really good friends.

Around 8 months ago I asked her out and told her how I feel about her, she said she just wanted to be friends and everything. I gave it a go for a while but came to the conclusion it’s not fair to her to have a best friend that wants to be more. So, I took a step back slowed down the texting, talking, keep it on more of a basic coworker/friend level.

We’ve been talking a lot more like we used to (her initiating it) but it’s been different. She texts me more, double text, come up to my desk to just chat. She seems way more interested in stuff going on in my life, giggling/laughing more with me. She used to never touch me, but she’s always touching me now, same thing with calling me nicknames. I still really like her, borderline in love with her.

I asked her to happy hour the other day (we used to always go) but she said no because she didn’t have make up on (never stopped her before). Is it over the top to ask her out again? But specify for a date, does this even seem like she’s interested to you or am I just imaging things?
