Long story short, I'm not dating the guy, just have a huge giant crush on him and he's been flirting a lot with me. He brought up his ex gf in a couple of conversations and I'm not sure how to take this.... one was a casual conversation about careers and he brought up the fact that his ex gf had a career in a top tier position. The other conversation was the fact that his ex (I don't know if the same ex) had an obsession with animals much like I do. I'm not sure how to take this because 1. I don't have a top tier position or career and 2. I am not really obsessed with animals I just like them and it was brought up before...
What does it mean when a guy (that your not dating) brings up his ex? Does that automatically mean that I'm being friend zoned because he's talking about his ex? Would a guy who's interested with a girl bring up his ex or would he only bring it up if he's not interested with the girl? I understand this can vary depending on the guy but what's the general consensus? Would a guy typically not bring up his ex if he's interested with a girl? I'm losing confidence over this because I'm comparing myself to his past exs.
