I have no idea how dumb this sounds or even if it does.
There's a TL;DR/summary at the bottom.
I'm 24, male. My tattoo artist is a woman, something like 30. I'm not sure, we'll call her Jane. Just in case it's important, she's Thai and I'm Canadian.
So, a while back, about a year ago, I was getting a tattoo and I got a call from a woman I know and Jane asked if the caller was my girlfriend. I scoffed/laughed, saying, "No, I don't have a girlfriend."
Unfortunately, I don't remember her reaction as I was face down getting a needle stabbed into my shoulder, but about 2 hours later, when the tattoo was done and after I had paid, Jane gave me a big hug, squeezing me.
It really caught me off guard and I reacted similarly to Doctor Strange after he saved that man's life and the man's family was really grateful and the wife hugged him at the beginning of the movie.
It was about 7 minutes into the movie, in case anyone is curious.
The big difference here I'm not a handsome millionaire surgeon with a flawless record. I just have attachment issues and this caught me off guard.
I'm getting another tattoo in August from the same artist and I'm really wondering if I should ask her out or if I'm blue curtaining this and misreading the entire situation. I mean, I get that she wants me to come back as much as possible and being friendly is a really good way to accomplish this.
TL;DR
My tattoo artist gave me a hug and asked if I had a girlfriend and I'm wondering if she's into me and if I should ask her out.
