I (32F) have been dating my boyfriend (37m) for five years. He proposed and I said yes, even though I'm not interested in getting married (to anyone). It's not that I'm unhappy with him or dont love him - I just think it's a hassle and I hate people making a big deal over things.
We've been engaged for three months and have nothing planned. He brings it up sometimes, but I'm just never interested in planning or talking about a wedding. It's unnecessary stress and money, in my opinion. I referred to him as my boyfriend the other day at the bank and he corrected me by saying "fiance!". I only have like two friends and they dont even know I'm engaged because I'm not excited, the typical way a girl gets.
Not sure if I'm looking for advice or what, I just wanted to express my thoughts right now. I dont HATE the idea of marriage, I'm just not interested in it. I'm going through with it to make him happy, but I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do.
