Some background: i met this girl may 2020, instantly liked her and we became very close with eachother, we would talk all the time, talk and hookup at parties and hangout with eachother, she goes away to college which I dont so when she was away we would FaceTime eachother and text. We always have a great time when we are together and I truly do like her. For a couple reasons we cant date right now, but I just like being close to her.
Problem I have: when she got home from break we were talking and I brought up the idea of hanging out and she said she wanted to. The next day i asked if she wanted to do something next week when she wasnt busy and she ghosted me. After that I didnt reach out for about a month when I wished her merry Christmas and we starred slowly talking again. I saw her at a party new years eve and we had a great time with eachother the whole night.
After that night i said i woukd like to see her again before she goes back in about 2 weeks and she agreed. I asked her just yesterday about doing something soon and she hits me with a "yes maybe i'll see". I immediately knew that meant no and texted her today that we'll just wait till summer since she's "busy" to hangout.
I love talking to this girl and being around her but the excuses on not wanting to hangout really hurt me and I need time away from her. I dont want to just cut off contact with her for no reason because i want to tell her why I need some time from her to think more clearly about things, but Im not sure what to tell her. Im gonna give it till the day she goes back to say what I want but dont know how to word it
