I'm a straight guy and after going out on a few dates, I realized I seem to have a preference. I seem attracted to boyish girls or butches? (Sorry if im using the wrong terms but hopefully you get the idea). My bros always found it weird but they never made fun of it and have actually tried hooking me up with some girls who they thought fit what I was looking for.
However, one thing they often overlook is that the boyish girls ive actually gone out with ended up being lesbians. Of course that's too bad for me since you can't change the way people were born, but it did made me feel like im way out of luck when it comes to the dating scene. One of my friends even said I had better luck meeting a princess-y girl than a straight girl like that. Especially with each friend slowly getting married, the realization that this preference is gonna leave me alone for life is pretty depressing. Ive tried going out and meeting other types of girls but none of them clicked for me. I even thought I was gay at some point and that maybe I like guys but nope, that wasn't it.
TLDR; My preference for boyish girls seems to be a big handicap in dating. Especially since these type of girls are rare to come by (or a straight one at that). How can I force myself to change this preference?
