I’m a bit confused if this guy at work is attracted to me or not so I’ll tell you how he acts around me (and other people as well) to receive your advice:
Context: I started a new job during the whole covid thing so I mostly worked from home. I had the chance to work for a bit on a project with this guy but we only saw each other in person like 5-6 times.
Now his behavior:

When we worked together he kept telling me almost every day how amazing my work is (way too over the top many times, like I was simply putting some data in a file and he was telling me how he never met someone working so accurately in his whole career - obvious bullshit :) )
- Whenever he sees me he smiles immediately and comes to me to strike a conversation and then he becomes super “obvious”. I’ll give you an example here. I came to the office one day (sometimes I go to office when I’m bored) and I was sitting a few desks behind him in the office space. He didn’t see me coming but I was looking at him from time to time for almost an hour. He was bored, writing emails and barely talking to anyone. After he noticed me he came to me and said “wow I didn’t see you here how long have you been here for?” He shakes my hand, smiled and we had a small talk. After that he became super vocal, making jokes with everyone in the office and he became the center of attention.
- Whenever he sees me he hugs me but I noticed he does this with everyone as a way of saying hello. But sometimes he does this to me 2-3 times during our conversations.
- Now the story gets interesting - I saw him 2 times with his girlfriend and wow he acts around me as a totally different person - very cold, doesn’t touch me in any way and barely says hello. This is what made me wondering what is going on with this guy?
Disclaimer: I would describe myself as conventionally pretty, nothing special but overall attractive and he’s the same.
I’m just genuinely curious and intrigued. I don’t want to ruin anyone’s relationship. He’s cute but I wouldn’t act in any way unless they break up.
What do you think of his behavior?
