(Reposting). Hey! I met this guy last week who asked for my phone number. He seemed nice so I gave it to him. He texted that night and has said pretty much nothing since. Just very small talk and never a call. Snapshot of text is included. Below.
I don’t know him so this is less about him (he doesn’t seem interested), more about this communication style. I just started dating again after leaving a few years long relationship turned situationship. Trying to get back out there lol. Is this what it’s like dating? Is talking on the phone not a thing? Do men not care for small talk and just ask you on a date instead? Did I say something wrong in the below text exchange?

Him: Nice meeting you earlier
Me: It was nice meeting you too
Him next day: Hopefully after the storm we could see each others sometime
Me: I'm down but you have to tell me a bit about yourself first lol
Him: Sure what do you want to know?
Me: Whatever you feel like sharing
Him hours later around 11pm: Just got off work. I work a lot lol
Me two days later: Missed your text about work (same on my end). Hope you don't have to head out to work in this weather
Him: Appreciate that. I hope you are safe & warm
Me attempting to make convo: how was your day
Him: very busy and very cold
—— four days later, no additional communication. I don’t expect him to follow up again at this point.
