New to the dating scene and need some advice...

On New Year's, I (25M) had made a simple enough resolution to myself that if I had a crush, I’d tell them and see where it’d go. Well, fast forward to now... I recently read u/Mattssbr post on this sub, and it had got me thinking, and that I still fit that bill exactly.

So here’s the situation: A girl (24F) that works on the same floor as I do (laboratory workers) clicked quite well at a small get together late December. I crushed pretty hard and made myself promise to ask her out at the next technician outing. Then in stepped a really bad advice friend who talked me out of it because of ”HR reasons,” and then I decided not to listen to him, mainly because he tried to tell me that I was ”below everyone’s league.” Well, by then, the labs we're shut down before the outing happened. Then I got sent to work at a COVID unit for 10-weeks. We bumped into one another briefly when I got back to my lab, and it was a simple ”Hey-Hi” conversation. I still want to follow through with this, but I don't know a simple way?

Minor Details: I don't have her number, but we are Facebook friends. I'm moving apartments across town and was going to have a few coworkers over post-move.

If you can't tell, I'm someone who overanalyzes everything until it is too late for any of it to matter. Please feel free to kick my ass into gear in the comments (in need of some tough love).
