My co-worker and I developed a flirtmance. When I first started working there she pretty much ignored me. But over time we grew closer and it developed into a flirtmance. At first I would notice that if she came in on her days off, she would come up to me and talk the entire time, sometimes her friends would be leaving and trying to get her to leave too but they'd have to call her several times before she left. Then it turned into her giving me a ride home every time we closed the store together. One time I was telling her about a video I watched and she asked me to text it to her (it seemed like an excuse for us to start texting). Then we started texting pretty frequently, sometimes until 1 in the morning. On my birthday she texted me first thing in the morning, and kept texting me all day. She would sometimes send me the hear emoji too. Every time she would drive me home, she would talk about how she wanted to go out for drinks with me. She would sometimes nudge me, and one time she came into work after me and she didn't notice I was right beside her and when she noticed she blushed majorly and just said "hi" really awkwardly. My friends who knew her told me that she talks about me all the time, and asks questions about me. She told me that the only reason she didn't quit the job was because of me. On her last day of work, she told me she was just going to skip it, but after I told her I was working that shift, she made sure to come in, even though she was working her 2nd job that night and had could only come in for the last 2 hours.
But here's the thing, she had a boyfriend pretty much the entire time this was going on. I didn't make a move because of this. She eventually broke up with her boyfriend before her 2nd last shift at our job. She made sure to bring up the fact that she had broken up with her boyfriend to me multiple times that shift. On her last shift I invited her out to come clubbing with my buddy and I later that week. She said if she had the day off she would and she said she'd let me know. I texted her before the day with more details and she just said she'll let me know, and I never heard back. I texted her a few weeks later and she apologized for not getting back to me, and I asked her again if she'd like to go out the next weekend for drinks. She again just said she'll check if she's busy and let me know. I haven't heard from her since.
Why would this girl act obsessed with me, but then not want to go out for drinks? What gives? The only thing I can think of, is I think that she has some social anxiety (despite being outgoing) and may dislike clubs. She did tell me she's not much of a partier, but I could tell sometimes when talking to me that she'd try to act harder than she actually was because I do like to party. Or maybe she thought I wanted to hook up that night and got cold feet.
