Looks do matter, they’re not all that matters but they do get you ahead in life and in the dating world. Anyone that would deny that is either delusional or really attractive and unaware of their privilege, attractive people get away with more things and that is unfair but what is more unfair is that we do this to ourselves as well.
Thinking i'm unattractive has lead me to stay in horrible relationships with people i considered out of my league, i let them get away with things that were disrespectful, it has lead me to be overly giving without revceiving anything in return because i was supposed to be lucky to be with them. I spent hours upon hours wondering if i would be better treated by my ex if i looked better; but when the relationship ends and i looked back at what i gave and what i got in return and how disrespectful they were to me. I realized just how much i deserved better, i deserved to treat myself better and not to put up with bad treatment just because someone looks better than me.
a person's attractiveness isn't a free pass to treat others like shit, and my lack of attractiveness isn't an excuse to settle for disrespect, the whole world is going to judge us based on how we look, we shouldn't do it to ourselves.
I have now decided to start working out and eating better, another major thing i have noticed is that i didn’t even eat well or work out or try to dress well because i thought i’d be unattractive no matter what. Wei now think that i deserve to have a healthier body and to be treated with well, those are basic human rights.
We have to take a part of the blame, it’s no t just society treating attractive people better, sometimes it’s us.
ps : this is my first post on reddit and english is my third language so i am sorry if there are any spelling mistakes.
tldr; The lack of your physical attractiveness doesn”t allow you or anyone to treat you like shit
