I (24F) met this guy (28M) about three months ago. We’ve been seeing each other around twice a week, and things feel really good overall. After about a month of dating, we agreed to be exclusive.
But a few things lately have made me question whether he’s actually ready for a relationship or if I’m overthinking because of my own history. I do have some trust issues from past relationships, so I’m trying to figure out if I should focus on working on myself or if there’s actually something to be concerned about. After about 1.5 months of seeing each other, he told me he had deleted Tinder. A couple of weeks later, he was showing me something on his phone and I noticed the app was still on his home screen. He deleted it right then, but it made me unsure whether he had really deleted it earlier or kept it for a while.
Another moment that stuck with me: I was messaging someone on my phone, and he pointed out the name which happened to be the same name as his ex. He doesn’t normally comment like that, so it made me wonder whether he might still have lingering feelings or unresolved stuff from that relationship.
I also look pretty different physically from his ex. It made me wonder if that matters to men. For me, he’s physically different from my exes too, and I still find him very attractive, so I’m not sure if I’m projecting.
At the same time, when we’re together we have so much fun. We laugh constantly, he pays when we go out, he prioritizes me even when he’s busy, and he helps me or offers to help me with things without me asking. He shows up for me in a lot of ways that feel genuine.
So now I’m stuck wondering: are these small red flags that I should pay attention to, or are my trust issues making me read too much into things? I’d really appreciate any outside perspective or advice.
