Too much dating advice focuses on ideas of building attraction or developing interest or top ten things you can do to make someone fall for you - it’s all garbage.
The goal of dating shouldn’t be to find someone you’re hot for and then do the right things and avoid the wrong things and through some magic make them like you. That isn’t how people work.
Your goal should be to find someone you’re attracted to, and find out if they’re also attracted to you. If you have fun together, if you’re both positive and interesting and engaged, and the attraction is already there, you give it room and time to grow naturally.
Trying to make someone hot for you, or asking after a bad date what you should have done to make them want you is the wrong way to look at it. You’re both puzzle pieces, moving around to see if you fit together. Trying to jam two non-fitting pieces together doesn’t make them match.
