I (20M) recently got to talking to someone (20F) who I vaguely knew in high school, and as it turns out we both are in the same city. I decided to ask her to grab some tea at a near by place and we did. It was nice, we were both having fun and it lasted about 3 hours. We got to know each other a bit more and catch up. I walked her to her car after we were done, she said "thank you for asking me out", which completely threw me off because I did not think of it as a date. Now that I think about it though I do like her so I'm hoping that it was.
That was about a week ago, we've been texting every other day but it is Christmas time and she's with her family in another state right now so its busy for both of us. Yesterday I suggested that we should do a movie night at one of our places, find some fun recipe to make together and watch a nice movie after, she said "that would work and be nice" but that she's super busy through out break, so I told her that I understand and we can do it whenever she's free. That was the last interaction we've had and I've been confused about how she feels. The thing is I can't tell if she's interesting, not interested, or just neutral.
So here's what I'm wondering:
- Did she actually think the first time was a date or am I reading too much into what she said?
- Should I ask her if she thought it was a date?
- If she says yes to 2, should I ask her how she feels in general about going on more dates?
- Did I fuck up by asking her if she wants to do that movie and food thing?
Sorry about the long post and thanks for the help.
