So many times you hear, “I have a job and I take showers, I own a car and have a nice house. Why can’t I get a date?” People are looking for more than the absolute minimum of positive qualities in a romantic partner. You have to do better than, “I’m not poor and disgusting.”
You wouldn’t go into a job interview and say, “I know the alphabet and I can tie my shoes, so I get to be Director of Finance?”
Think about the kinds of things you look for in a date, and work on that for yourself. You’ve got to be interesting, kind, fun, positive, thoughtful, and charming.
You have to have interests to talk about. You have to be attractive somehow, either physically or mentally or emotionally. You have to be enjoyable to spend time with.
So if you can’t get a date, but the only positives you can think of about yourself are basic levels of hygiene and ability to survive in the modern world, you’ve got some work to do.
