Me F(25) Him (31) I met a guy on Hinge. We texted for about two weeks and went on a date last week. The date was nice! We had drinks at two different bars, talked for around four hours, and he said he’d like to see me again. After the date, we continued texting.
One thing that already stood out to me was that he often read my messages and replied several hours later (sometimes 2–10 hours). I didn’t make a big deal out of that, because we all have work and busy lives.
However, on Wednesday he read my last message and then didn’t reply at all until today. I was already ready to delete his number, because for me, being left on read for days feels uncomfortable. Even if someone loses interest, I’d prefer honest communication.
Today he replied and said he got sick on Tuesday and slept a lot. That’s obviously possible, but what bothers me is that he didn’t apologize or acknowledge the long silence. A short message like “Hey, I’m not feeling well, I’ll reply later” would have been enough for me.
Now I’m unsure how to handle this. Should I just reply normally and answer the questions he asked, or should I tell him that I didn’t like his communication style and step back?
I’d appreciate outside perspectives.
