Is it too late to answer guy’s date request?

I was out with friends drinking two weeks ago and my friend invited his friend which I never met before. At the end of night his guy asked me on a date. I wanted to say yes but I don’t know I was sleepy and tired so I didn’t even answer. I have him on one of my social media accounts but I’m not sure if I should write. I’m being paranoid that maybe he was drunk or I don’t know really
