A quick background: So we came from Iraq to the US in 2003 after the US invasion of Iraq, my father served in the iraqi military and died by an explosion in april of 2003 after Baghdad fell. Mom immediately got a smuggler who helped us cross several european countries before reaching the United States. Since then we have been moving a lot, from Miami Florida to Flynt Michigan but then decided to stay at one place without moving, so we moved for the last time to Forsyth County, Georgia.
The problem: So it started last year in October (2018) when mom and I moved in to Forsyth County in Georgia, mom had been working so much to get the money she needed to buy this house here. I was in my last year of high school (senior year), the house was in a fairly small neighborhood, there were a total of twenty houses in the area. I congratulated mom for the house because she had worked really hard to buy it. Mom is a well-ambitious person, she fears nothing and she looks great. Without exaggerating how beautiful she is, but if I got a woman who looked like a fifth of my mother, I would be incredibly happy. I idolized mom.
In the neighborhood, I made some new friends just days after moving in. It was in January (2019), that I first met the racist in the area, Aamon and his then girlfriend Lezabel. Me and my friends were playing soccer on the street in the neighborhood when I accidentaly happened to kick the ball too high so it went straight into Aamon's house and smashed a window. They ran out and immediately started yelling at us, swearing at us and calling us racist slurs. We were immigrants after all, I am an Iraqi and my two friends are Mexicans. Aamon looked scary, he was bald, a white American who was quite tall. He was not wearing a shirt so I saw that he has several satanic tattoos on his back, chest, stomach, arms and legs. He had rings on his ears, eyebrows, nose and lip. His girlfriend looked exactly the same as him with the tattoos and rings. After they were done screaming, they went home again. After that, my friends told me about Aamon and his racist history here in Forsyth County, his hatred of people who have roots from other countries. I was very shaken by what had happened and went home. I had never experienced anything like this during my 16 years living in the United States.
When I got home, my mom sat on the couch talking to her relatives in Iraq over the phone, she saw that I was sad and she became eager to know what had happened, I told her what had happened and she decided to go to Aamon's house with me and confront him, they lived at the house right next to ours. Mom knocked and out came Lezabel, mom started talking about the problem with her and asked to see her boyfriend Aamon, Lezabel tried to joke and showed no respect to mom, but then Aamon came to the door and asked Lezabel to go in, he then started to talk with mom. Mom said she could pay for the window but no matter what, he had no right to scream and say these racist things about me and my friends. Aamon said that he does as he pleases and that he did not care about the window, it became an avid conversation, because I noticed that he was constantly checking out mom, it was extremely uncomfortable for me and I grabbed my mom's arm and took her home.
A day later, Aamon came home to us, my mother initially refused to take him in, but he said he was here to apologize and did not want to have any problems with the neighbors. I was surprised because I heard stories of him being merciless, brutal and someone who didn't care. My mom told him to come in, we sat down in the living room and talked, then it was time for me to go to school. I didn't really want to leave Mom alone with him in the house, so I texted her and asked if it was okay for me to go to school, she replied that it was. After about 3 and a half hours I came home from school and to my surprise I saw that Aamon was still in our house, he had been drinking coffee with mom and as soon as I came in he started to round up and say goodbye, he left past me and patted my shoulder and then left the house. I didn't ask my mom why he stayed so long but just went up to my room to do the homework.
During the night of the same day I was about to go to sleep when I heard screams from Aamon's house, I looked out of the window and saw his girlfriend Lezabel holding a bag in her hand and started swearing to Aamon and he back, she left his house and walked away from the neighborhood. It seemed like a break up and that was the case, because she didn't come back anymore. Then a few days later after I got home from high school I saw Aamon in our garden and mowing the grass, I told him it was ok and that I would continue with it, but he said he wanted to cut it, I went in in the house and saw mum sitting on a chair and looking out at the garden, she had apparently asked him to mow the grass.
I started seeing him many times, almost regularly in our house, every time after school. Mom always looked fresh, like she has recently showered. After seeing this happen a number of times, I asked my mom about it, she immediately replied that it was work he helped with in the house and that she did not want me to do it because she wanted me to concentrate and focus on my studies I told my friends what I saw of Aamon during the last couple of moths, abouth the good things that he did, but they still did not look happy and warned me that he is an individual that you can not trust and that he never changes for anyone else.
The one day, it was a monday and I had left school early today, it was just five days left until I graduate, I was walking home and when I got near the house I saw mom leaving Aamon's house, I called her but she did not answer and went into the house, I thought she did not hear me, when I came in a few seconds later I noticed that she stepped into the shower, I waited until she was done and then asked I did what she did there, she said she borrowed a mobile charger because hers had worn out and was not working. I did not suspect anything at all.
Then after I graduated, my mom said that we would go to Iraq to visit our relatives for a month, I would rather not but saw that my mom really wanted to, so I followed along on the trip. It was now July and it was time to go back to the US after a month in Iraq. Mom and her family pushed me to stay for another two months until September when I will start working. I refused and explained that it was not possible that I wanted to go back home to be with friends, etc. But Mom was determined and managed to persuade me to stay. Then after staying for over a month and a half, I decided to go back and do a surprise for my mom. I told the relatives not to mention that I was going earlier than expected. They agreed.
I then landed after many hours of flying, took an Uber to Forsyth County, Georgia. It was about 10pm or 11pm as I recall. After coming home I went in and left the bags, but mom was not home, I assumed she might be out walking or shopping, so I waited. After waiting for a whole hour I started to get a little worried, then I went out to check, I walked to some of the female neighbors with the hope that mom might be with them, but she was not. I then got a terrifying thought that mom might be in Aamon's house, but I thought it was impossible at the same time. I then knocked on Aamon's door but got no answer. I went back home and waited and looking through out the window, after a while I saw mom leaving Aamon's house, with him walking her out, she gave him a kiss and started walking home. I played like I just got home, she was happy to see me, and asked when I arrived, I told her not so long ago. We then talked randomly about my period in Iraq. I just kept my mouth closed and said nothing to her.
I'm in serious need of advice and help, what can I do and how should I approach my mother with this information? Any thoughts and opinions?
